Pilates Reformer & Tower Systems Program-Beaumont YMCA
PILATES is rich with history but the compelling draw of the Beaumont Centre Family YMCA Pilates Reformer program is the continued innovation of equipment and progressive programming that keeps members coming back for more. 2016 begins our 13th year of transforming lives and we are celebrating our first year of programming with the new Balanced Body equipment including Reformers, Tower System, and split pedal Pilates chairs. More than 44 classes are offered weekly and run in 8-week sessions. Everyone begins in Level-1 and can stay in Level-1 or continue progressing into more advanced practice, 2A, 2B and Level-3. Participants may sign up for multiple classes either on-line, at Member Services, or by phone by calling 859-219-9622.
When should I move to the next Level? Everyone starts with Level 1 regardless of their level of fitness. Participants should complete at least 16 classes of Level 1 to learn the basic Pilates repertory of exercises before moving on to Level 2A. Level 2A is a stepping-stone to more advanced Pilates exercises and it is recommended that all students participate in at least two sessions of 2A prior to entering a level 2B class. Emphasis is on expanding the Pilates repertory at a slightly faster pace. Students may participate in Level 2A indefinitely if satisfied with personal progress. Please consult with an instructor if you need advice on finding the right class for you.
Pilates Reformer is a balanced blend of strength and flexibility training to improve muscle tone/shape, posture, and body alignment, back health and joint mobility for freedom of movement. We offer beginning through advanced levels and a complete listing of classes can be found on our website. All new incoming participants begin in Level-1 classes and progress to the next Level.
